Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Infrastructure/Data Center Technician for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in New York, NY.


Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to hands on infrastructure support for voice, video, network, telephony, and communication room management.

Required Skills:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience with layer one infrastructure and cable management
  • Experience with Cisco Network Gear, Cisco VOIP, Cisco ICND (certified a +)
  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, Network Tools, User support (SA/Help Desk)
  • Experience with Category 6 and 6A cabling as well as 50M fiber optic infrastructure
  • 2+ years of experience in large corporations in support of telecommunications, and working with clients, peers & vendors
  • Support for heavy volume trouble ticket and MAC queues in a trade floor environment
  • The ability to properly communicate project status and escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and innovative thinking as they pertain to cable plant infrastructure
  • Experience with Microsoft Access/Excel and SSH Tectia terminal
  • Possess strong documentation skill set to maintain voice and network inventory
  • Take a technical approach when solving infrastructure challenges
  • The ideal candidate possesses a strong technology background in layer one infrastructure inclusive of but not limited to Avaya and Cisco VOIP
  • The right candidate is a flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring the ability to proactively prioritize and multi-task on infrastructure projects related to communication room build-outs and maintenance
  • Associates Degree or equivalent 5-7 years of work experience
